Trex Co. in Winchester, Va., assigned its $3-5 million advertising account to Carmichael Lynch, Minneapolis, following a review. Campbell-Ewald Advertising in Warren, Mich., was the runner-up.
The Richards Group, Dallas, was also named a finalist, but withdrew from contention before creative presentations last week. There was no incumbent.
The company, a maker of high-end synthetic wood products used in commercial and residential construction, now looks to Carmichael to create a national campaign with a strong branding message, ensuring that consumers equate the Trex name with quality home improvements.
