Carmichael Lynch has hired Tom Gunderson as it’s director of Interactive, a new title for a unit that previously had no formal structure.

Gunderson, who will report to agency president John Colasanti, joined the Minneapolis shop from e-business firm iPares. He has also held marketing positions at Waters Molitor and Pillsbury Co.

The agency has had an informal interactive department for several years, creating Web sites and Internet strategy for clients that include American Standard, Caribou Coffee and Rapala.
