MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA Carat has beaten out Starcom MediaVest to win Walt Disney Studios’ estimated $25 million business in Australia.

The incumbent was Mindshare, which held the business for 11 years.

Commenting on the move to Carat, John Cracknell, vice president and managing director for Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment in Australia and New Zealand, said Carat’s work on the Disney account in other markets was a factor in its appointment.

“We are well aware of the benefit Carat has brought to the Disney company in other markets and look forward to them making a most significant and valuable contribution to our success in Australia,” he said via a statement.

Alan Finney, vice president and managing director, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, added he was “delighted and excited” at the prospect of working with Carat.
