LOS ANGELES Money-transfer business Western Union has selected four agencies to compete for its advertising account, the client said today.

A representative for Western Union confirmed that the agencies under consideration are Omnicom’s TBWA\Chiat\Day in San Francisco; Interpublic Group’s Campbell Mithun in Minneapolis; Publicis Groupe’s Leo Burnett in Chicago; and Bartle Bogle Hegarty in New York, which is partly owned by Publicis. The two-year incumbent, WPP’s J. Walter Thompson, Chicago, is not participating.

Presentations will begin in the next few weeks, said client rep Danielle Pereira.
