NEW YORK — Bozell has landed creative and media duties for John Frieda Professional Hair Care, owned by The Andrew Jergens Company, the agency confirmed.

The Interpublic Group agency, which already handles such Andrew Jergens brands as Biore and Curel, was selected without a review. Connecticut-based John Frieda was purchased by Kao Corp. via its Cincinnati-based Andrew Jergens unit late this summer.

According to CMR, John Frieda spent about $13 million on measured media last year and nearly $10 million for the first seven months of 2002.
