Belo Interactive Debuts Ad Tool

DALLAS Belo Interactive, the Internet subsidiary of Belo Corp., has launched AdCenter, a self-service advertising tool for businesses promoting products and services online, the company said.

Powered by Amazing Media's AdVariant product, AdCenter is available on Belo's 24 local Web sites, according to the company. Advertisers can use the service to create rich-media display ads and geographically target their campaigns at Belo Interactive's Web sites, Belo said. Users can also pay online via a secure service and monitor the results of their efforts, a Belo representative said.

AdCenter's customers are expected to be companies with modest marketing budgets that need guidance through the process of creating advertising, according to Belo.

"With this tool, advertisers can simply manage their library of online creative, monitor their online campaigns and manage their online advertising budget in one place," said Linda Fisk, vice president of audience operations at the company.

Belo, based in Dallas, is a Fortune 1000 company that operates newspapers, broadcast, cable and Internet operations nationwide.
