In the wake of losing Bank of America, BBDO laid off 16 people Friday afternoon, 2 percent of the agency’s New York staff of 800. The cuts are being made across departments.

In May, BofA said it was moving its business from BBDO, which had worked on the account since 2006, to a group of WPP companies.

Sources said the cuts would have been higher if not for new revenue from subsequent wins like Hewlett-Packard's global creative consolidation at BBDO in May and Visa, which BBDO won back in September.
