Atmosphere Proximity is expanding its top creative ranks with the addition of John Gagné, who becomes a new executive creative director at the New York office of BBDO’s digital, direct and CRM agency, Proximity. Previously ecd at Proximity Canada, Gagné also assumes responsibility as global ecd on Gillette for Proximity Worldwide.
Gagné joins Stewart Krull as an Atmosphere Proximity ecd, with the two reporting to Andreas Combuechen, the CCO, CEO of the agency. Gagné’s appointment follows new-business wins this year at Atmosphere Proximity including Visa and HP.
Gagné joined Proximity Canada in 2006, where he built its creative department from a team of three to one that now numbers 50 people. Under his leadership, Proximity Canada has carved out an award-winning reputation that contributed to its selection as 2011 Digital Agency of the Year by the Advertising & Design Club of Canada and Strategy.
