Atlanta Consultancy Takes Bite of Big Apple

ATLANTA The Haystack Group, an independent marketing research company here, opened an office in New York this week, the shop said.

Kathy Kinney has been hired to supervise the office. Kinney left GCI Group in New York, where she was vice president of consumer marketing, to join Haystack.


Kinney has supervised strategic planning, media relations and special events for Schick, Dial, Visa, Walt Disney, Nestle and Dole. Her experience includes the launch of Harry Potter and the Goblets of Fire for Amazon.com and the 100th birthday celebration of Dr. Seuss.

The New York office will work with the shop's clients, Mannington Mills and Pfizer, said Bonnie Ulman, founder and principal of Haystack. Kinney will work with the clients, in addition to leading the shop's consumer marketing and public relations practices.

Haystack plans to open another office in Tallahassee, Fla., next month, Ulman said.
