Hal Riney & Partners/S.F. which had been involved in the initial planning and strategy for the business, will stay on as creative consultant through the transition, according to the client.
Ketchum, Idaho-based Aqua Vie, which has not advertised before, is a marketer of so-called ‘New Age’ beverages, with a line of flavored spring waters which it began distributing last summer. Aqua Vie plans to expand to national distribution, Canada, Mexico and selected international markets by the middle of this year. Also under development are a line of ‘nutritionally fortified’ beverages and non-alcoholic wines.
GMO, which several weeks ago also won the Stuart Anderson’s Black Angus Restaurants, won the business following a review that began with nine agencies and pitted the agency against Wieden & Kennedy/Portland, Ore. in the finals.
Riney resigned the business when it picked up The Crystal Geyser Water Co., another New Age beverage business, without a review. Crystal Geyser is owned by Pharmavite, the parent of another Riney client Nature Made vitamins.
