AOL Names EVP of Interactive Marketing

NEW YORK -- America Online has hired Lisa Brown, the former president and chief executive officer of USA Electronic Commerce Solutions, as executive vice president, interactive marketing.

In the newly created post, Brown will identify new marketing opportunities for the Dulles, Va.-based Internet unit of AOL Time Warner. Reporting to interactive marketing president Robert Sherman, she will work with AOL brand, marketing and broadband teams to develop integrated sponsorships and transaction opportunities for marketers.

As president and CEO of USA Electronic Commerce Solutions, Brown oversaw such services as online store design and development, merchandising, marketing, customer care, warehousing and fulfillment for clients. Before taking that post in August 2000, she was evp of sales there.

Prior to USA Interactive, Brown was principal of Maverick Communications, a consulting firm she founded in 1997 that specialized in broadcast and Internet initiatives. Before that, she served for 10 years as vice president and general sales manager at TeleRep, Inc., a division of Cox Communications that represents broadcast TV stations throughout the U.S.
