NEW YORK — America Online has hired Lisa Brown, the former president and chief executive officer of USA Electronic Commerce Solutions, as executive vice president, interactive marketing.

In the newly created post, Brown will identify new marketing opportunities for the Dulles, Va.-based Internet unit of AOL Time Warner. Reporting to interactive marketing president Robert Sherman, she will work with AOL brand, marketing and broadband teams to develop integrated sponsorships and transaction opportunities for marketers.

As president and CEO of USA Electronic Commerce Solutions, Brown oversaw such services as online store design and development, merchandising, marketing, customer care, warehousing and fulfillment for clients.
