Amazon Expands Private Label Offerings

Amazon this week further enhanced its private label offerings via a line of new cooking products with celebrity chef Tom Douglas (pictured).
 
The line, Tom Douglas by Pinzon, includes cutting boards, tableware and kitchen utensils. The link amazon.com/tomdouglas went live this week.

Pinzon is one of two private label lines available via Amazon. The other is
Strathwood, an Amazon brand name that refers to outside furniture.
 
An Amazon representative said the company has been offering private label items since 2004. She declined to say whether Amazon plans to expand its line of private label offerings.
 
Amazon's move comes as some retailers, most notably Walmart, have expanded marketing for their private label products as recession-addled consumers have traded down from branded products.
