NEW YORK Alltel has begun contacting agencies about its $100 million ad account, sources said.
The Little Rock, Ark., client's account has been at Omnicom Group's DDB in Chicago since the spring of 2003. That shop won the business following a review that also included DDB sibling Martin/Williams in Minneapolis, Interpublic Group's The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va., and sister shop Campbell-Ewald in Warren, Mich.
Rojek Cutcher Group of Cleveland handled that search, but sources said Alltel is not using a consultant this time around.
"There has not been a change in our relationship with DDB. I cannot comment further," said client representative Andrew Moreau.
Executives at DDB could not immediately be reached.
Alltel provides telecommunications services to about 12 million customers in 26 states.
