John Patroulis, a co-founder of agencytwofifteen where he was co-executive creative director and partner, is the new chief creative officer of Publicis Groupe affiliate Bartle Bogle Hegarty New York.
And with the news of Patroulis’ departure, McCann Worldgroup said it is merging agencytwofifteeen into Interpublic sibling McCann Erickson, S.F. Agencytwofifteeen had been known as McCann T.A.G. until last year when it was repositioned as an independent creative boutique. Patroulis was the creative force behind the agency’s most celebrated work for Microsoft X-Box, including the Halo 3 'Believe' campaign.
The agency, which will now be known as Twofifteen McCann, will be led by the former management team of agencytwofifteen: Mike Parsons, managing director, Mike Harris, chief strategy officer and Scott Duchon, chief creative officer. In its announcement, McCann did not address the ongoing roles about the two top execs who have been running the San Francisco office, Robert Leplae, North America president, and Curt Detweiler, evp, ecd of the agency's North America operations, both of whom joined the agency in 2009.
At BBH, Patroulis takes the job vacated by Kevin Roddy last September after a disagreement with BBH founder John Hegarty over the office’s future direction. Until the announcement about Patroulis joining BBH, the NY office has been run primarily by planners, with little creative representation in senior management.
BBH also said Calle Sjoenell is being promoted to deputy CCO, a new position at the agency. Sjoenell, previously agency ecd, leads the team working for the agency’s biggest client Google.
