The 59th International Festival of Creativity at Cannes, which opens this coming Sunday, promises to be one of the most competitive ever. Entries to the global award show have climbed nearly 20 percent over 2011 across the festival's 15 categories—with a total of 34,301 entries from 87 countries vying for Lions. Organizers even added more jury members to deal with the flood of work.
Adweek will be on the ground throughout the festival with realtime reports, including video interviews, analysis, winners galleries and more. All of our content will be collected at our Cannes hub at adweek.com/cannes. Our coverage begins today with a profile of Mars, the festival's Advertiser of the Year, as well as a gallery of work to watch that could win Lions.
Check back at adweek.com/cannes for more preview coverage and live reports throughout the week of the festival.
