For a couple of decades now, cultural seers have insisted that shifting gender roles leave men and women confused about how to interact with one another. The trouble with this intriguing bit of pop sociology is that it turns out not to be true. At any rate, it finds few takers in a poll conducted by Abt SRBI for Time magazine and the Rockefeller Foundation.

Respondents were asked whether they agree or disagree with the statement, “You are confused about the way men and women are supposed to interact these days.”
