Directions Inc., Neenah, has been named agency of record for TEC Systems, a De Pere-based unit of W.R. Grace & Co. that manufactures products for the graphic arts and web process industries.
Henke & Associates, Cedarburg, has been chosen agency of record for Maritime Bay Wood Products, Two Rivers, a manufacturer of children’s indoor playground systems.
OHIO
Hartzell Fan, Piqua, selected David K. Burnap Advertising, Dayton, as agency of record for its industrial air-moving products.
Watt, Roop & Co., Cleveland, has been retained by YMCA of Greater Cleveland to create a new marketing program.
Webasto Sunroofs, Rochester Hills, Mich., has selected Lauerer Markin Gibbs, Maumee, agency of record for its aftermarket division and for introduction of its Roboroof sunroof.
Freedman, Gibson & White, Cincinnati, has been selected by CareerFair World, to create national advertising for its restaurant management Career Fairs.
MISSOURI
Hilton Hotels Corp. selected Jantsch Communications, Kansas City, to handle advertising and marketing, and Hammack Cecil Events Ltd., Kansas City, to handle special-event planning for its Kansas City Queen riverboat casino, scheduled for launch in mid-1994. Phillips West and Project Communications have been named to handle media and community relations.
Amphitheater Entertainment Corp., a Phoenix-based unit of Blockbuster Entertainment Corp., named Bernstein-Rein, Kansas City, its agency of record. The client operates amphitheaters in San Bernardino, Calif.; Phoenix; and Charlotte, N.C. The agency also handles the Blockbuster video chain.
Corporate Strategies, St. Louis, has added Intec Systems Corp. to its client list.
Gateway Pontiac Dealers selected Kupper Parker Communications, St. Louis, to handle all advertising and public relations assignments for its 34 area car dealerships.
MINNESOTA
North Star Bank, St. Paul, has hired Layton Marketing Group, White Bear Lake, to conduct a database analysis and marketing program.
EMPAK, Shakopee, has selected Alpine Marketing Communications, Edina, to handle the national rollout of a line of microwave cooking products under the Mode brand name. The program includes pr, direct mail and a print campaign in national consumer cooking and shelter magazines.
HP Communications, Burnsville, has been named to handle public relations and media relations for Lend Lease Trucks, Minnetonka.
Colle & McVoy, Minneapolis, will handle marketing communications services for the International Apprenticeship Contest & Exhibition, to be held Nov. 14-15 in Minneapolis.
MINNESOTA
The Radisson Slavjanskaya Hotel & Business Center in Moscow has retained Scidmore Hersom & Others, Minneapolis, as agency. It is the first Radisson hotel to operate in Russia. The agency also works for Radisson’s hotel in Seville, Spain.
WatersMolitor, Minneapolis, has been chosen by G. Heileman Brewing Co., La Crosse, Wis., to develop in-store marketing programs for the Schmidt’s brand this summer.
Carmichael Lynch Spong Public Relations, Minneapolis, has been named agency of record for Advantage Minnesota, a private non-profit marketing company created to promote the state of Minnesota to businesses considering expanding in or moving to the state.
MICHIGAN
Stone & Simons Advertising, Southfield, has been chosen by Win Schuler Foods as agency of record for its Bar-Scheeze and Bar-Schips foods and for development of new products.
Creative Media, East Lansing, has added six clients: Eli Broad College of Business, Michigan State University, for design of its annual report; Grand Traverse Coalition for Responsible Solid Waste Management & Recycling, for consultation and print media services; Michigan Information Technology Network, for print advertising; Total Facilities Management, for a business-to-business direct mail campaign; 2-D Cardiac Imaging, for media buying; and Wharton Center for Performing Arts, Michigan State University, for media buying.
INDIANA
Montgomery, Zukerman, Davis, Indianapolis, has been named to create all TV, radio, print and outdoor creative for Auto Source, an auto aftermarket chain operating in Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton, Ohio; Indianapolis; and Louisville. Additionally, the agency was selected by NINA International as agency of record for Milani, a new line of lipsticks and nail polishes to be sold in mass merchandisers and drug chains.
St. Charles Cos., Chesapeake, Va., selected Juhl Marketing Communications, Carmel, its agency of record for its approximately $1 million account, including the St. Charles brand of home and commercial cabinetry and the Mastercraft brand of home cabinetry.
CRE Inc. has added Modernfold, New Castle, and National Greenhouse, Pana, to its client roster.
