3 Pitch $10-12 Mil. Hot-Tub Biz

NEW YORK A group of marketers under the aegis of the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals has briefed three agencies in its search for a shop to handle a new hot-tub advertising assignment.

Estimated ad spending is $10-12 million. Both creative and media duties are in play.

Hasan + Co., the Raleigh, N.C.-based consultancy managing the search, identified the contenders as The Richards Group in Dallas, Blattner Brunner in Pittsburgh and Carton Donofrio Partners in Baltimore. Each is an independent.

The briefings took place last week and final presentations are scheduled for late March at the association's headquarters in Alexandria, Va., according to Hasan Ramusevic, principal of Hasan + Co.

The finalists emerged from a field of six agencies that client executives met with in mid-February. Not advancing were Interpublic Group's Fitzgerald + Co. in Atlanta, MDC Partners' Colle + McVoy in Minneapolis and independent TBC in Baltimore, Ramusevic said.

The review began in January and is expected to conclude by month's end.
