$20 million MLB account leaves FCB Worldwide

SAN FRANCISCO — FCB Worldwide here on Thursday parted ways with $20 million client Major League Baseball, the agency confirmed. FCB won the business in September 2000. Sources said the client will likely place the account in review.One source said MLB fired the agency. However, FCB issued a statement that said the agency and client disagreed on marketing strategies for next season. The client plans to move away from advertising to concentrate on product placement and public relations promotions, the statement said.
