You Don’t Have to Watch the Oscars on Sunday

romeo-santos vina de marBe prepared: NBC Universo is airing “the festival of all festivals” next week. The weeklong “Festival Internacional de Viña del Mar 2015” will not only be telecast, but NBC will be live-streaming the festival. For ten days after the festival, subscribers to NBC Universo can stream performances, too, and “relive” the excitement. The concerts are also available on the mobile app. Luisa Varona, Vice President, Programming, NBC Universo said in a statement:

NBC Universo is all about bringing Latinos the biggest events and can’t-miss moments from around the world, and now we’re thrilled to offer one of the most acclaimed stages in Latin America to our viewers. Music is a part of our network’s DNA, and as a modern cable channel for Latinos, we’re excited to exclusively bring Latin America’s ‘Festival Internacional de Viña del Mar 2015’ to U.S. audiences on whichever screen they choose.

Luckily, you can watch the live performances even if you don’t subscribe to Universo by streaming it on the website. For highlights the next day and past performances, you’ll have to be a subscriber. Which means that it will be infinitely easier to watch a Spanish music festival for free than say, the Oscars, especially if you’re a cord cutter.

The festival kicks off on Sunday at 8 p.m. if the Oscars get boring. Spanish Twitter is a fun Twitter.
