Yidio debuts social alerts for TV shows

By Cory Bergman

As TV becomes increasingly non-linear, many viewers don’t know when a new episodes airs — or when it becomes available online. Enter the social TV guide Yidio, which has added a new feature that alerts you via Facebook, Twitter or email when new episodes of your favorite shows become available to watch online.

“Just because TV is everywhere doesn’t mean you should have to look all over to find it,” said Brandon Eatros, CEO of Yidio, “Yidio Alerts bring all your TV to you, leveraging the pre-eminent social channels to deliver a personalized, prioritized, TV guide.”

When you sign up, Yidio imports all your Facebook favorites and allows you to add new shows, as well. You can set up alerts for episodes airing on TV, appearing online as well as original news stories related to your favorite shows. Pretty cool, if you ask us.
