Here’s what ABC’s ‘Fresh Off the Boat’ has going for it: a 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, a unique spot within ABC’s already culturally diverse comedy lineup, and ratings that hovered in the 1.5-2.0 range throughout the season.
Here’s what it doesn’t have going for it: a commitment from ABC for a second season.
The ratings alone are good enough to justify another season, but two weeks after the Season 1 finale, ABC has yet to announce a pickup. And so, as we have come to expect, fans – and show stars Ian Chen and Forrest Wheeler – have taken to Twitter with hashtag #RenewFOTB to force the network’s hand:
