UCI_UniMobile_TMo_en_pos_R_4c[2]Coming off of their Upfront, Univision announced a major mobile project last week with T-Mobile. The new service for Hispanic Americans “combines the insights and programming content of Univision, the leading media company serving Hispanic America, with T-Mobile’s wicked-fast network and Un-carrier™ wireless innovation and know-how,” according to the announcement. Walmart will be the exclusive retailer of this service, “in approximately 1,800 of its stores throughout the country” and it will “also be available at 6,000 independent dealer locations serving Hispanic communities throughout the country.”

A highlight of the partnership and new service will be how Univision brings it’s TV contact into T-Mobile’s environment. The Univision Mobile “portal” will give “customers access to news, sports, and entertainment, as well as Univision apps, including UVideos and Uforia.”

This will of course make it even easier for consumers to share Univision content across social. TV networks continue to recognize that their content can no-longer only dominate the traditional TV box.
