Undateable’s Live Show: Better the Next Day

amobee undateableAfter the huge success of its live show last season, Undateable is going all live, all the time. While it wasn’t the highest rated show on Friday, Last Man Standing and Dr. Ken beat it out, according to Nielsen, the live event drove some meaningful social conversation. Amobee Brand Intelligence analyzed the data surrounding the premiere and found that people are into a live sitcom. Who knew?

Top Level Undateable Findings

  •  Between 8 p.m. – Midnight ET on Oct. 9,  there were 24,174 tweets around Undateable, a period that included the show airing a separate one hour long version of the season premiere on both the East Coast and West Coast. That was at least 2.2 times more tweets than any other comedy or drama that aired an original episode in the same four hour time period, with Reign generating 10,395 tweets around its own season 3 premiere.
  • Of the 24,174 tweets mentioning Undateable between 8 p.m. – midnight ET on Oct. 9,  Twitter sentiment was 37 percent positive, 55 percent neutral, and 8 percent negative. That breaks down to  4.6 positive tweets for every negative one around the episode.
  • There was also far more next day engagement around Undateable than around competing sitcoms. On Oct. 10, there was 56 percent more digital content engagement around Undateable that around Last Man Standing, which had better tune in rates; and 1,411 percent more digital content engagement around Undateable than around Dr. Ken.
  • During last season’s experimental live episode on May 5, there were 10,242 tweets around Undateable; meaning there were 2.4 times more real-time tweets around this season’s first live episode.
