“Saturday Night Live” announced the hiring of Sasheer Zamata yesterday, and entertainment and TV’s biggest stars reacted favorably to the first female African-American cast member hired in six years.

“Scandal” star Kerry Washington also congratulated Zamata, telling her to have fun.
