Twitter IPO S-1 takeaways for the social TV industry

Twitter’s S-1 paperwork for their highly anticipated IPO was revealed. Social TV expert James Neufeld wrote a detailed analysis of takeaways for the social TV industry. Neufeld, previously of never.no recently founded SAM, “an online social asset management platform for news and media professionals,” which is, “currently in Private Beta with 5 of the worlds leading newsrooms.”

Twitter mentions Television 42 times (TV 5 times, Broadcast 5 times), Media Outlets 28 times, News 27 times  in this document. This sets one of the key themes throughout the document. Twitter frequently boasts about mainstream media coverage of Tweets and sees the media as a key part of it’s eco-system and growth.
