truTV launches “Draft a Joker” Facebook sweepstakes in lead up to Impractical Jokers return

truTV’s hit series Impractical Jokers is a mix between Jackass and Hidden Camera. Four longtime friends – Q, Murr, Joe and Sal – dare each other to do increasingly ridiculous things in public. After completing each dare, the guys are given either a thumbs up or a thumbs down. At the end of each episode, the friend with the most thumbs downs is subjected to humiliating punishment. We interviewed the guys recently at Comic-Con. To build upon the show’s momentum, and to prepare for the return last Thursday of the second half of season two, truTV launched “Draft a Joker”, an online sweepstakes that gives the show’s more than 700,000 Facebook fans the chance to test their knowledge of the series.

The number of Impractical Jokers Facebook fans – 700,000 – is no surprise given that the show is one of truTV;s youngest-skewing series (with a median age of 32) and is ranked among basic cable’s top five programs in its timeslot. In addition to the show trivia, there is a “fantasy sports” aspect of the game. Fans have the ability to draft the Impractical Jokers star – either Q, Murr, Joe, or Sal – they think will win the most dares in each episode. Each week, ten randomly chosen participants will win merchandise from the show and the network. At the end of the season, one weekly winner will be selected to attend an Impractical Jokers shoot.
