'The Wire: The Musical' spreads across the social web [video]

If you haven’t seen The Wire yet, you should be ashamed of yourself. What’s arguably described as the greatest TV show ever has just made it’s way onto Funny Or Die via a hilarious musical reprisal featuring many of the cast members. The social web is buzzing about the amazing video that has extended a TV show on social years after it’s been off the air.

HBO’s The Wire, which takes an intensely deep look at Baltimore, police (or rather POlice) life, drug life and more has even been taught in classrooms. Many of the actors have gone onto to star in bigger roles. For example, Michael Kenneth Williams, the star of the musical who played the infamous Omar, is now on Boardwalk Empire.

Funny Or Die successes are playing an important role in dictating to the TV world, what social TV fans are dying for. One of the main reasons why James Van Der Beek got his gig on ABC’s Apt. 23 was because of his Funny Or Die videos. This amazing reunion of The Wire should be the standard for every TV show regroup with an extremely passionate fan base.
