That Time Selina Meyer Mocked Frank Underwood While Hanging With VP Joe Biden

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner isn’t your typical social TV haven, but it somehow managed to unite HBO “Veep’s” Vice President Selina Meyer with “House of Cards'” President Frank Underwood.

“The headline I’d like to write is ‘Selina Meyer: Sworn in As President,'” Julia Louis-Dreyfus said in character during a video played during the Correspondents’ dinner, looking straight into the camera while taking on a Southern accent to mock Underwood’s trademark asides.

“Yes, we can all look directly into the camera Kevin [Spacey]…the point is, you’re not supposed to,” Meyer continued. “Now, if I can just find a young reporter to bang and throw under a train, we’d be in business,” she concluded, adding in an Underwood-inspired double knock on the table.

“Who the hell are you talking to?” real-life Vice President Joe Biden asked the “Veep.” “Don’t worry about it,” Meyer said, moving out of her Underwood-inspired aside.
