Screen Shot 2016-11-10 at 3.03.13 PMYou’ll be able to order some STARZ offerings as part of the new DirecTV NOW when the service launches later this month. DirecTV NOW is the AT&T-owned offshoot of its satellite-TV offering, which will be delivered via the internet. Think of it as cable, but as a web service instead.

The deal delivers eight STARZ ENCORE channels at launch, with more STARZ channels and VOD to come, according to Eric Becker, the SVP of Corporate Communications at STARZ.

When DirecTV NOW launches, it will have more than 100 channels and starts at $35 a month. Some premium channels will cost extra in this à la carte offering. The company hasn’t spelled out all the details. This is different than Netflix, which only has video on demand and no live channels. DirecTV NOW will offer many of the same channels you see now on traditional cable, live.

To watch it on your TV, you’ll need some sort of digital device. Citing documents accidentally released by the company online, Variety reports DirecTV will give free Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV Stick devices to people who sign up for different monthly commitments.

STARZ is home to some popular original programs: Blunt Talk, starring Patrick Stewart just started its second season (And is a fave here at One LR Plaza). Ash vs Evil Dead has a following, as do Power and The Girlfriend Experience.
