Spredfast integrates with new Pinterest analytics to enrich social TV offering

5.20.14-martechPinterest is continue to lay the groundwork to become the next big social powerhouse for the TV industry. The platform recently launched a show on FYI and now the visual social network is rolling out brand new analytics. Spredfast, the social media company that recently launched Spark is one of Pinterest’s launch partners. “We’re working with a small, carefully selected group of marketing technology (“MarTech”) developers to offer Pinterest business insights,” Pinterest API Engineers Steve Cohen and Thomas Sha said in a blog post. We spoke with Spredfast’s Chief Strategy Officer, Jesse Redniss about the implications this partnership has for social TV.

Redniss explained the following to Lost Remote:

Much like the larger television and storytelling world, the Pinterest community is a highly engaged social ecosystem that is fueled by visually stimulating pieces of creative across multiple sources of  inspiration. Beyond the real-time conversation areas that define one part of socialTV, lies the larger storytelling and content engagement universe that can be built on many social platforms where a brands passionate audience congregates. To that end, A&E, with their new network FYI show ‘We’re moving in’ is just one example of how the Pinterest platform and community can drive inspiration and creativity in the media world and fuel new format  television built from the ground up on the foundation of social.

It’s going to be a big year for Pinterest and the TV world and this specific social platform will be a key piece to helping television sell show products on the social web.
