Social TV’s Top Shows, Actors Among Emmy Nominees

Social-TVThe 66th annual Emmy Award nominees were announced today, and some of social TV’s biggest shows and actors are among the contenders.

HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” Netflix’s “House of Cards,” and now concluded AMC classic “Breaking Bad” are nominated for outstanding drama series, along with HBO’s mini-series “True Detective” and AMC’s “Mad Men.”

For outstanding comedy series, Netflix’s “Orange Is the New Black” garnered a nomination, along with HBO’s “Veep” and newbie hit “Silicon Valley.” Long-running sitcoms “The Big Bang Theory,” “Modern Family,” and “Louie” are also nominated.

Top social TV actors nominated include “Breaking Bad’s” Bryan Cranston (lead actor, drama), “House of Cards'” Kevin Spacey (lead actor, drama), HOC’s Robin Wright (lead actress, drama), “Scandal’s” Kerry Washington (lead actress, drama), “OITNB’s” Taylor Schilling (lead actress, comedy), “Veep’s” Julia Louis-Dreyfus (lead actress, comedy), “Girls'” Lena Dunham (lead actress, comedy), “Breaking Bad’s” Aaron Paul (supporting actor, drama), “Game of Thrones'” Peter Dinkage (supporting actor, drama), and more.
