The seventh annual Shorty Awards, honoring the best of social media, is just hours away. The Shorty Awards Red Carpert stream begins at 5:30pm EST, and the livestream of the show begins at 7:30pm EST.
The event will be hosted by former SNL star Rachel Dratch, who will also be appearing alongside former castmates Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in the upcoming movie ‘Sisters.’
One doesn’t get to be host of the Shorty Awards without a strong social game, and @TheRealDratch boasts 132,000-plus Twitter followers.

LostRemote: Do you ever tweet while watching TV?
Rachel Dratch: I do tweet while watching TV.
LR: Who’s the best current or former SNL cast member to follow on Twitter?
Dratch: That’s tough because so many funny SNL people aren’t on Twitter. Oh! I know: Colin Quinn. But you have to be prepared because they are all very tongue-in-cheek.
LR: Did you ever, in your wildest dreams, think that Debbie Downer would live on as a meme?
Dratch: Back when we wrote this memes didn’t even exist, so, no!
LR: What excites you most about hosting the Shorty Awards?
Dratch: Learning what the rest of the world is doing online. I’d say I’m about three years behind all the trends.
LR: Former SNL castmates – and upcoming co-stars in Sisters – Tina Fey and Amy Poehler know a thing or two about hosting award shows. Are you going to ask them for advice? If not, what do you think they’d tell you?
Dratch: Well, they have the advantage of being in a duo, so if one of them wants to drop in and help me out, I would welcome it!
