No Decline in Adidas’s Digital Advertising Domination

It’s time to take a look at the top 10 ads of the week by digital share of voice*, powered by iSpot.tv. iSpot.tv tracks TV ads in real-time and allows customers to monitor social actions, search activity and online video views associated with TV spots across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google, Bing, and Yahoo!

It’s a tale of two lists this week, with the top three spots held by incumbents, while the remaining seven are filled by newcomers. Adidas yet again retained its hold on the top spot with the “Take It” spot, claiming a 3.48% digital share of voice on the back of 747,000 online views and 65,500 social actions.

Competitor Reebok climbed to second position with “Freak Show: Be More Human” which gained a nearly 1% share of voice driven largely by a strong 1.9 million online views, but slipping a bit on social actions at just over 4,000. And Android’s “Friends Furever” slipped to third with a .98% SOV on a relatively low 471,000 online views but stronger 16,000 social actions.

The newcomers in the bottom seven mostly consisted of a mix of fun, fashion and food. Video games Bloodborne and Battlefield: Hardline ranked fourth and ninth, respectively, with their launch trailers this week. David Beckham’s H&M ad ranked fifth, beating out the Apple Watch spot in the fashion department. And McDonald’s and Mountain Dew were neck-and-neck at seventh and eighth, respectively, in the food and beverage category.

Only the last spot bucked the trend, with LeanIn’s women’s equality message delivered by a mix of NBA and WNBA stars.
