nSXz7qvaqMHZYKBNBC this week has announced that it will invest in, and partner with, NowThis News. In two years, NowThis News has become a major player in an evolving news landscape. It is skewed towards younger audiences who seek to consume information – news or otherwise – via short, mobile-friendly videos. The companies will partner to co-produce original, short, videos that are easily shareable, and the relationship will play to their major strengths: NowThis News’s philosophy and NBC News’s resources.

“We know that news consumption among younger audiences continues to grow, but in order to reach that audience, we need to continue to create video for the platforms they use most. NowThis News does exactly that — delivering relevant news stories for the mobile and social platforms that resonate with this audience,” said Patricia Fili-Krushel, Chairman of the NBCUniversal News Group. “We’re excited to incorporatethis relationship into our overall strategy — to innovate inside and outside the company — positioning the News Group for future success.”

The content that NowThis News and NBC co-produce will span across many NBC properties, including TODAY, MSNBC, NBC News and CNBC.
