Kimmel and HBO Lead This Week’s Top 5 Viral TV Clips

By Adam Flomenbaum

5byIn this week’s installment of our partnership with 5by, the video discovery and messaging platform that curates the web’s best viral videos, we take a look at the top five videos of the week from the platform’s TV category. For background on the videos selected, Theo Tabah, 5by’s Head of Content:

Both Kimmel and HBO had two appearances each in this week’s top 5. Kimmel had John Stamos on the show for a viral announcement. The Internet was buzzing after he announced the Full House resurrection that had been in high demand for so long. Of course, the 13 episodes will air on Netflix, starting out as a reunion and then transitioning into a spin-off.

Also, “in light” of 4/20 this week, Jimmy hit the streets to ask weed smokers some common knowledge questions. To be fair, the questions weren’t that easy, but still, “I Don’t Know” was being thrown around way too much.

Jimmy Fallon had Blake Lively on the show this week and the game they played essentially involved Blake putting strips of scotch tape on Jimmy’s face. I’ve never seen Jimmy do so badly at one of his own games.

On the HBO front, John Oliver cranked out another eye-opener on patents and patent trolls. Bottom line, the trolls will sue you.

HBO Boxing released an incredibly well-done mini-doc on the Floyd Mayweather/Manny Pacquiao fight. It gives a great backstory on the two fighters, why the past fights never got made, and why this one is so important. You know when each fighter is expected to walk away with over $150 million, it’s sure to be one of the greatest televised sporting events in recent history.
