He’s drawn a lot of laughs from moviegoers over the years, with a recent Academy Award nomination to boot, but last night, Jonah Hill got serious while apologizing for a homophobic slur.
“I didn’t mean it in a homophobic way,” Hill said on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” about a gay slur he used over the weekend to a member of the paparazzi harassing him. “How you mean things doesn’t matter. Words have weight in meaning. And the word I chose was grotesque, and no one deserves to say or hear words like that. I completely let the members of that community [LGBT] down when I used a word like that this weekend,” he added. Hill went on to urge people to use him as an example of what not to do when people are being hateful toward them.
Social media is buzzing about Hill’s sincere apology. Jonah Hill is currently the top trender on Facebook, with a slew of media outlets covering.
