Jacob Shwirtz to lead social TV efforts as Chief Social Media Officer for Endemol Beyond USA

Headshot-ShwirtzWe’ve followed Jacob Shwirtz‘s career for a few years now as the former Viacom social TV lead become one the top thought leaders in the industry. Shwirtz gave us inside looks into the social TV world of Viacom and is now onto his next big role as Endemol Beyond USA’s Chief Social Media Officer.

Shwirtz couldn’t be a better fit for this position as someone who spent his career at Viacom, connecting the dots between the organizations many TV brands. Endemol Beyond USA is “the division charged with building out a global video content network backed by the production juggernaut’s $40 million investment,” according to Variety. Building social TV into the production side of the TV equation is a topic we’ve continued to write about as a key to storytelling in the age of social.

Will Keenan, the President of Endemol Beyond USA (who joined Endemol for Maker Studios) said in a release that:  “I consider Jacob Shwirtz to be the best in the business at what he does.  Consumers interact with Endemol brands in multiple ways and digital continues to grow increasingly important to them.  Jacob will lead a comprehensive digital strategy for Endemol Beyond USA that will deepen our connection with our audience.  His entrepreneurial thinking and experience will drive great innovation, insuring social media is a core component of everything we do.”

Shwirtz, “will create and implement forward-looking strategies that maximize the potential of social media as a global storytelling platform, using new methods and genres of content creation for distribution and monetization to capitalize on the ever-changing landscape of the digital revolution,” according to the release. We’re excited to watch what he cooks up.
