How Nickelodeon’s Korra Nation fan Tumblr engaged fans at Comic-Con

We’ve written before about Nickelodeon’s Tumblr presence for  Legend of Korra (an animated series where series “set in a fictional universe where some people can manipulate, or “bend”, the elements of water, earth, fire, or air) and the fan base they’ve built around Korra Nation. Yesterday, the network not only hosted a success panel at Comic-Con but they even launched a detailed scavenger hunt for the biggest fans in San Diego, using their Tumblr presence. Here are the details.

 

They kicked off the announcement on Tumblr with the following post:

Attention Comic-Con goers! The Legend of Korra panel has just ended, but here’s how you can get more Korra!

Starting this evening at 5pm, Korra Nation is hosting a scavenger hunt. AMAZING prizes are up for grabs, including exclusive Comic-Con swag signed by Mike and Bryan.

Check back at 5pm for the first scavenger hunt clue. Each clue will lead to an intersection within walking distance of the Comic-Con convention center.

Then a full fledged scavenger hunt ensued and their Tumblr fans were kept updated throughout. Each post and hint was extremely shareable with fun animated GIFs and content-driven trivia. This was a great way to not only let fans have fun post the panel but also keep the worldwide fans who couldn’t be there up to date on the fun.
