House of Cards continues to ramp up their social TV footprint and it’s now going way beyond just sharing their own show’s content. The show’s official Twitter account, @HouseofCards live tweeted Thursday night’s episode of Scandal and made a point to engage with cast members who were live-tweeting the show.
Here are the details.
They started off with this:
A case for Olivia Pope? #Scandal pic.twitter.com/cWm7p7zlpP

Kerry Washington responded:
THIS! “@HouseofCards: A case for Olivia Pope? #Scandal pic.twitter.com/Om0y3EOJJA”

They continued to tweet at the show throughout the episode:
@ScandalABC A word of advice to Ms. Langston… For those of us climbing to the top of the food chain, there can be no mercy.

@tonygoldwyn Excuse me, I do believe you’re sitting in my chair…

Kerry even tweeted again:
“@kevincostley: The fact that @HouseofCards is live-tweeting @ScandalABC is making my night.” Soooooooo awesome!

Kudos to Netflix on figuring out that even if they can’t live tweet their own shows on a non-existent linear schedule, they can join the fun with others. We’ll see who makes the first mashup that goes viral and if we’re lucky maybe even a Jetsons/Flintstones style crossover of characters in a real episode of House of Cards or Scandal.
