FYI today announced that it has greenlit 14 episodes of ‘Food Porn,’ a new series that capitalizes on the growing foodie culture spawned by social media. The series will be hosted by The Meatball Shop co-founder Michael Chernow and is executive produced by Bethenny Frankel.

“People are obsessed with photographing, sharing and discussing the food they eat on social media,” said Jana Bennett, President of FYI and LMN. “FYI will be capturing this convergence of mouth-watering food and social trends in a unique and entertaining format.”

According to the release, there are currently more than 50 million Instagram posts with the hashtag #foodporn.

In the show, Chernow will take viewers across the U.S. to tell the story behind the hashtagged food, speaking with the chefs and restaurateurs responsible for the buzzworthy menu items.

The show sounds like a cross between ‘No Reservations’ and ‘Man vs. Food’; in which case, count me in.
