fuboTV Has Become the TV Everywhere Solution for Soccer Fans Living Abroad

By Adam Flomenbaum

There is no fan base that continues to follow its favorite teams abroad like soccer fans do. Until recently, though, it has been difficult to find networks that air games across a number of top leagues and tournaments, which has forced fans to search for low quality internet streams.

Enter fuboTV, which, for $6.99 per month, gives soccer fans access to matches from La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Primeira Liga across desktop, mobile phone, Roku, Chromecast and Amazon Fire TV.

fuboTV has impressively secured deals with seven networks and clubs: beIN Sports, GolTV, BenficaTV, SportTV, Borussia Dortmund, Everton and AFC Ajax. Most impressive of these partnerships is the one with beIN Sports, which will enable fuboTV users to stream all beIN programming and live matches that aren’t available on their linear packages.

fuboTV is set to carry over 800 live matches in 2015. We asked fubotTV co-founder David Gandler about some of the more surprising streaming statistics his company has seen so far: “Women account for 22% of total streams,” Gandler said. “Also, time spent on [soccer] content is roughly 14 minutes on average across 140,000 visits per month.”

Gandler also noted that fuboTV also licenses TV series and that the company is working on original productions focusing on the cultural aspect of soccer.
