Exclusive: Nielsen and Videology present research on the new media consumer in Southeast Asia

Jaffe and  Byron Munson from Videology, Nielsen’s partner, just shared the exclusive research which Lost Remote is posting here first. They discussed how Southeast Asia is a huge opportunity for TV. -80% own smartphones
-50% own tablets
-almost 8 in every ten own a PC
-2 or 3 screens is the norm among the digitally engaged
-8 in 10 in Vietnam and the Philippines have 3 – the highest in Southeast Asia
-6/10 are watching Internet TV
-access illegal content is down 50% as more legal options become available
-Local language is strongly preferred
-16-24 year olds spend more time watching video online than on TV
-75% or more engage with social media comments about TV shows
