ConnecTV ads roll out across local TV stations (video)

By Cory Bergman

The second screen app ConnecTV has launched its marketing campaign at its first wave of partner TV stations, hitting the airwaves with 30-second spots tailored to each station. As the battle for the second screen intensifies — Zeebox is preparing to launch in the US later this summer, likely with its own TV promotion — ConnecTV is counting on its partnership with over 200 TV stations to establish a foothold. ConnecTV’s marketing agency, Troika, showed us the spot and provided some details how they’re integrating the look and feel with partner TV stations.

Here’s the spot (above), and Troika tells us that its designed to be tagged with the respective ABC, CBS, CW, FOX and NBC station logos along with their own talent’s voiceover. A graphic toolkit was created for local affiliate to plug the app inside newscasts, from a lower-third to a full-screen graphic. As you see in this example from KING 5, the URL links a ConnecTV-branded page on KING5.com.

ConnecTV is currently available for iPad with iPhone and Android versions coming later this summer.
