As we’ve reported, Conan O’Brien has become one of late night TV’s most socially-active hosts, and his show’s new feature, “Conan360,” appears to be a technology never-before-seen on TV.
O’Brien debuted “Conan360” last week, a technology sponsored by AT& T that allows viewers to turn to the show’s website or mobile app to watch certain segments from a variety of angles.
One segment shows Conan launching a big Texas-sized steak launch across a basketball court, attempting to shoot the steak into the hoop (he scores on his second try). By simply moving your computer mouse or mobile phone screen around, you can see all angles of the video, isolating Conan in a forklift during the launch, or focusing on the basketball hoop he is shooting the steak at.
Another segment travels with “Deputy” Conan O’Brien, as the late-night host spends a day with the Johnson County Police Department in Texas. The beginning of the video shows O’Brien in front of the camera, but with the tilt of a mouse or phone to the left, Sheriff Bob Alford comes into the picture.
“This amazing camera technology technology, which I personally invented along with a little help from my friends from AT& T, uses a special 360 degrees camera that shoots in all directions,” O’Brien said in the debut video for the series.
