Comedy Central just launched their impressive new app, “CC: Stand Up” which “is a stand-alone extension of Comedy Central that brings comedy fans a completely new stand-up channel, a tool to discover new comics and a platform for sharing comedic content.” In April, The New York Times described the app as “a free, ad-supported app…designed to look and feel like a cable channel devoted to stand-up, the app will offer videos of comedians performing routines.” Here are the details.

Lost Remote gained early access to the app in advance of the release. The app is sleek and quick and really feels like it’s a TV channel. It opens quickly and you’re instantly taken into video clips. The focus on video first shows how Comedy Central understands and is paving the way for what TV second screen apps should be – mini channels. The app will definitely be a success and feels like a NowThisNews for short comedy bits from both well known comedians and emerging talent.
