CNN’s taking social TV curation to a whole new level. In honor of the President Obama’s State of the Union, currently underway, the network has “created a database of the Twitter handles of every member of Congress,” to help track the reactions in real-time. Here are the details of one of CNN’s most impressive second screen achievements to-date.

According to CNN the “database will allow CNN and Twitter users to follow Twitter feeds along with the speech in real-time,” via CNN.com/tweetoftheunion. CNN’s investment in building this database proves they understand what it takes to innovate editorially in a social media world driven by expert curation.

This will also have a major role on TV. “CNN Television, we’ll put the tweets in context with a magic wall visualization,” the network explained. “Additionally, CNN iReport is challenging viewers to sum up the speech in one tweet, and tag it #tweetoftheunion – the best tweets will be featured on CNN platforms.”

CNN’s proven that they know how to take social TV to the next level. Proof of their growth and success has come even from Twitter itself.
