CNN Launches Content Hub, Adds International Livestreams

By Karen Fratti

d-l-wordpressCNN is determined to be everywhere. Today it launched a new Style vertical online, a digital destination for aesthetically minded viewers. Architect Daniel Liebeskind is the debut guest editor, along with “pop-artist Takashi Murakami, industrial design supremo Karim Rashid, performance art superstar Marina Abramović, godfather of avant garde Yohji Yamamoto, petrolhead Jodie Kidd and shoe maestro Manolo Blahnik.”

The section will be “tailored for social sharing” and a digital-savvy audience. According to an official statement:

Like CNNMoney and CNN Politics, CNN Style will enable us to reach a unique audience and new advertisers with best-in-class content. It is aimed at an influential, affluent global user who places great value on a sleek and highly visual presentation…CNN Style is a true collaboration among units across the organization — International and Domestic, Digital and TV, Editorial and Commercial. A special thanks to Linnie Rawlinson, who kept this ambitious project on track, and CNN Style Editor George Webster whose passion for style and digital flair has given the vertical its unique international appeal.

CNN Style content will be integrated into on-air programming, as well. In addition to branching out to other audiences with the new vertical, CNN also announced an update to CNNgo. CNN International’s livestream will be available on CNN’s website, its iPad app and Apple TV. The addition of the international livestream is the first step in a yearlong process of rolling out CNNgo internationally.
