cnn logo_304x200Ahead of CNN’s advertising upfront tomorrow, which Lost Remote will be at, comes news of the network’s original online video expansion, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The Turner network will announce “CNN Digital Studios” at tomorrow’s event; a web-only video expansion with a mix of short 15-second videos aimed at social sharing and longer original webisodes.

“15 Second Morning” is one of the expected forms of content, along with “Brutally Honest with Kelly Wallace,” and the health-focused “Live to 100 w Sanjay Gupta.” Another web series will be “Crossfire Reloaded” (watch after the jump), featuring a shorter version of the political debate show.

“We are targeting the mobile and social generation,” said Chris Berend, CNN’s vice president for Video Content Development. “The shows we are doing, you’ll see the CNN DNA, but they’ll be geared towards new generation of CNN users.”

The new effort will also look outside of CNN’s talent roster for content; “Related with Dave Franco” will focus on celebrity siblings, hosted by actor James Franco’s brother, and co-production with Funny or Die.

The digital push comes after the network touted record page views in March.
