CBS Sports Launches Digital, Daily Newscast

By Karen Fratti

This week, CBS Sports launched a daily sports show, Daily Fantasy Live, on all of its digital platforms, including its app and sports hub at CBSSports.com. This is good news for fantasy sports fans, and the people that put up with them, because they won’t have to monopolize the television to get their fix. You don’t have to have a cable subscription to authenticate, or a CBS All Access account. Viewers can watch the show at 6 p.m. Monday- Friday via the site, app, or the CBS Sports channel on Roku, Apple TV, and Android TV.
The nightly newscast is will cover fantasy football, baseball, and hockey rankings and player news. While baseball is in season right now, it’s never too early for coverage of football. Already viewers can tweet lineup questions using the hashtag #DFL and hosts Heath Cummings and Ryan Bass will answer them.
Jeffrey Gerttula, SVP and General Manager of CBS Sports Digital said in an official statement that that want to be the number one resource for fantasy fans:
Interest and participation in daily fantasy sports continues to explode, and we’re excited to serve that growing audience with quality programming and industry-leading experts. We’re confident Daily Fantasy Live will be a valuable resource to both seasoned and new daily fantasy sports players.
The show is produced with sponsorship from FanDuel, a fantasy hub where you can sign up to play a lineup for just one day, without the commitment of sticking around for say, and entire baseball season. That can take a lot out of a guy. Daily Fantasy Live will feature FanDuel branding and on-air promos.
